      The book will be on display at the American Psychiatric Association annual conference in New York City in October.

          About the Author

     Linda Andre is an activist and writer living in New York City. She is the author of numerous articles in scholarly and general interest publications. As a recognized expert on electroshock, she has appeared widely in the media, including the New YorkTimes, 20/20,  the Atlantic, the Washington Post, and many more. She has presented at conferences worldwide, and has consulted to state and federal government agencies. 

      For the past twenty-five years she has been an unpaid advocate for the human, legal, and civil rights of persons with psychiatric labels. Since 1992, she has been the Director of the Committee for Truth in Psychiatry, the international organization of electroshock survivors working for truthful informed consent to shock.
